David T. K. Wong

Connections
Stories of East Asia

"Different continents, different lives. David Wong brings both together in this elegant and illuminating collection."

Fay Weldon, British novelist

"David Wong’s stories transcend the divides of race, culture and locality to illuminate a range of human conditions. Some real gems."

Pam Fraser Solomon,
Senior Producer, BBC Radio Drama

"David Wong’s short stories celebrate the versatility of the form – and the diversity of his characters; destinies. He knows all about contemporary patterns of violence and oppression but still contrives to find room to manoeuvre, room for ironic detachment and stubborn, private daydreams."

Lorna Sage, University of East Anglia

David T. K. Wong was born in Hong Kong. Educated in China, Singapore and Australia, he acquired degrees at Stanford University and the Institute of Social Studies at The Hague. The Fellowship awards £25,000 to each successful candidate writing in the English language a work of fiction set in Asia.
