Fred Schneiter
Getting Along with the Chinese
for Fun and Profit

"Fred Schneiter uses light-hearted anecdotes to explain culture clashes, and points out, tongue-in-cheek, the similarities and differences between Westerners and Chinese."

Wendy Kan, South China Morning Post

"Fred Schneiter knows the Chinese"

China Business Review

"Schneiter has a keen appreciation for Chinese views of Westerners, for American impressions of the Chinese and for things that wriggle in China."

Richard Read, The Oregonian

Fred Schneiter has lived and worked in Asia since the mid-1960's and now lives in Hong Kong, where he is US Wheat Associates' Vice President for Market Development in China. His work has carried him into every corner of China, including Tiananmen Square a few hours before the army moved in. A former newspaper reporter, news editor, columnist, self-syndicated foreign correspondent and Korean War veteran, he has been a consultant to the US Chamber of Commerce and a member of the lay faculty at Santa Clara University Management Center. He has won national awards in communication and management, and testified on US-China trade on Capitol Hill. Getting Along with the Chinese is his first book; he threatens to write many more.
