Asia 2000 is the oldest of our imprints. It originates with the magazine Asia 2000 that we first published in 1980. The magazine was about the future of Asia. We could not make a go of it so decided to publish books. At the time it did not occur to us that we would still be doing so when the year   2000 crossed the horizon of the present and quickly receded into the past. So it goes. In the more than two decades that have been intervened, the Asia 2000 logo has graced the spine of a wide variety of books and even known its share of controversy. The Asia 2000 list now comprises   four title  categories: Illustrated Books, Current Affairs & History, TravelLanguage & Culture, and Memoir & Biography. The list grows steadily stronger. Among our new books this year are Brave Land, Ray Hu's passionate journey to reclaim his past, a semi-biographical and semi-   historical account of Twentieth Century China told in the voices of three generations. We hope language learners will also appreciate Amy Leung's No Sweat Cantonese, the long awaited textbook and CD from one of Hong Kong's most popular and successful Cantonese Teachers.
