Kavita is a design consultant and writer. She formerly lived in Hong Kong is now a resident of Singapore. Born in Dehradun, India, she studied at the University of Delhi and later in the United States on the Shastri scholarship. She is one of the founders of Hong Kong's Outloud poetry community, organising the first gathering and reading at Steps, a small bar on Aberdeen Street.
