Professor Qi Gong

Khoo Seow Hwa, a master of Chinese calligraphy, devotes himself to sharing his passion for the art with others. Khoo teaches calligraphy at the National University of Singapore, the National Arts Council of Singapore, and many other institutions. He has written 23 collections of essays in Chinese on the subject.

Decades of "grinding the ink slab" have perfected his mastery of the art. A frequent participant in exhibitions, he has had his work displayed in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and the USA.

Nancy L. Penrose, the co-author of Behind the Brushstrokes, Appreciating Chinese Calligraphy, formerly studied calligraphy with him.
