| Stewart Sloan
is a third-generation resident of Hong Kong, his paternal grandfather
having come here at the turn of the century to work with the Taikoo
Sugar Refinery. Fascinated by the horror genre
from a very early age, Stewart sold his first short story, 'The
Last Passenger', to Eve Magazine in 1988 and later several
others to Style Magazine. Apart from the occasional travel article he
has also worked for an electronics trade magazine and was the English
editor of the Sport Divers' Journal, a bilingual magazine aimed
at scuba divers throughout Asia. (He is a PADI Assistant Instructor.)
In 1994, in partnership with Rebecca Bradley, he set up Hong Kong
Horrors Publishing in order to publish his novel, The Sorceress
and a novella, The Isle of the Rat, both stories are set in
Hong Kong.
Stewart lives in Hong Kong with his wife Quirina and
sons, James and Richard where he works in the security industry.
Most of his free time is taken up with writing and
he is currently working on his next novel which is also set in Hong
Kong. When he is not writing he likes scuba diving, because, as he
says, underwater, you can't hear anybody whinge.
